Every day is a new low for America. The Senate had a chance to give us the most meager increases in gun control and failed to do so. Our safety, as tenuous as that has been shown to be this week, was further compromised by the cowardly actions of our elected representatives. They constantly bow to the pressures of money and insane special interests. I realize this is nothing new in a country built on the backs of the enslaved and the poor, but I’m still disturbed and depressed by it. So now all of you who believed that the government was coming to take your guns can rest easy. The government is too crippled by it’s own corruption and incompetence to take anything from you. Rest easy with your weapons and false sense of security they give you. Meanwhile, those of us hoping against hope that things would change for the better are left shaking our heads and wondering what new horror awaits us.
