Watch an Animated St. Vincent Cover a Bob’s Burgers Song

From Vulture:

Through its three seasons, Bob’s Burgers has had a lot of fun coming up with silly little ditties. Phase two of these tunes’ histories is what the show is calling “Bob’s Buskers.” The series will feature prominent artists like Stephin Merritt of the Magnetic Fields covering Bob’s Burgers’ songs. In turn, one of the show’s animators then uses their version to make videos of the artists busking in front of the Bob’s Burgers storefront. First up is St. Vincent covering a song from the season two episode “Bad Tina,” in which Tina starts hanging out with bad girl Tammy. They seem to get a few bucks at the end, which was probably because of Tina’s impassioned mop-playing.

“East-West” - Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Fillmore Auditorium, October 14, 1966
That Michael Bloomfield/Dylan guest spot I posted a few weeks ago got me digging back into Bloomfield’s oeuvre, which naturally sent me to “East-West,” that incredible jam from his days with the Butterfield Blues Band. Unbelievable stuff — not sure if anyone else in the world could do what Michael was doing on guitar at that point? Just a perfect mix of guts, tone, technique and adventurousness. This version, taped towards the end of his Butterfield tenure cuts off around the 15-minute mark. Not sure how long the original performance was — maybe they’re still playing it?
